PHNOM PENH, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia has reported almost 2.43 million international air passengers in the first four months of 2026, a slight drop of 4 percent compared to the same period last year, said an official report released on Friday.

Issued by the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), the report said a total of 33 international and domestic airlines had operated 23,204 flights to the kingdom's three international airports during the January-April period this year, up 2 percent compared to the same period last year.

It added that the Southeast Asian country recorded a 36-percent rise in air cargo volume to 30,448 tonnes during the first four months this year.

Cambodia has three international airports in operation. They are the Techo International Airport serving the capital Phnom Penh, the Siem Reap Angkor International Airport, and the Sihanouk International Airport.

SSCA's Secretary of State and Spokesperson Sinn Chanserey Vutha said that currently, a total of 29 international and four domestic airlines have operated flights connecting Cambodia with other ASEAN member states, as well as China, South Korea, Japan, Qatar, India, and the United Arab Emirates, among others. ■
